38. High school friends annual reunion.

Every year around this time, some of my close friends come to visit from Switzerland. We picked them up from the airport, and almost instantly it felt like no time had passed at all, as if we’d only seen each other yesterday.

매년 이맘때쯤이면 스위스에 사는 친한 친구들이 나를 찾아온다. 공항에서 그들을 마중 나갔는데, 다시 만나는 순간 마치 시간이 전혀 흐르지 않은 것처럼 느껴졌다.

This weekend, we stopped by a lovely country pub. There was warm, traditional food on the table and plenty of great conversation. The atmosphere was relaxed, comforting, and exactly what you want when catching up with people you care about.

이번 주말에는 아늑한 시골 펍에 들렀다. 따뜻한 전통 음식과 함께 이야기꽃이 끊이지 않았고, 소중한 사람들과 시간을 보내기에 딱 좋은 분위기였다.

We talked about old memories and what we’re all doing now, moving naturally between different languages and cultures. I really enjoy sharing perspectives with people who live abroad — it always challenges my assumptions and opens my mind a little more.

우리는 예전 추억부터 현재 각자의 삶까지 다양한 이야기를 나눴고, 자연스럽게 여러 언어와 문화에 대해서도 이야기했다. 해외에 사는 사람들과 관점을 나누는 시간은 언제나 내 시야를 넓혀 준다.

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when the time together feels too short. But instead of feeling sad, I find myself already looking forward to the next visit and the conversations still to come.

헤어지는 순간은 언제나 쉽지 않다. 함께한 시간이 짧게 느껴질수록 더 그렇다. 그래도 슬퍼하기보다는, 다음에 다시 만날 날과 또 어떤 이야기를 나누게 될지 벌써부터 기대하게 된다.
