55. Going on school trips as a teacher

Going on school trips is one of the things I really enjoy about being a teacher. Over the years, these trips have taken me to many interesting places and created some memorable experiences for both students and teachers. Seeing students learn outside the classroom often makes the lessons feel more real and exciting.

학교 현장학습은 교사로서 제가 정말 좋아하는 활동 중 하나입니다. 지난 몇 년 동안 이런 여행을 통해 학생들과 함께 다양한 흥미로운 장소를 방문할 수 있었습니다. 교실 밖에서 배우는 경험은 학생들에게 수업을 더 생생하고 흥미롭게 느끼게 해 줍니다.

When I was teaching in South Korea, I had the chance to visit several fascinating places with my students. We went to museums, including the Gayageum Museum, where students could learn about traditional Korean music and instruments. I also travelled to Gyeongju a few times, a historic city full of temples, ancient sites, and cultural landmarks.

한국에서 가르칠 때 저는 학생들과 함께 여러 흥미로운 장소를 방문할 기회를 가졌습니다. 가야금 박물관과 같은 박물관에도 갔는데, 그곳에서 학생들은 한국의 전통 음악과 악기에 대해 배울 수 있었습니다. 또한 사찰과 유적지, 문화유산이 많은 역사 도시인 경주에도 몇 번 방문했습니다.

School trips in the UK have also been fantastic. One trip last year was to a zoo, and it was wonderful to see how excited and happy the children were throughout the day. These moments remind me how valuable shared experiences can be for building curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

영국에서의 현장학습도 정말 좋았습니다. 작년에는 동물원에 갔는데, 하루 종일 아이들이 얼마나 즐거워하고 신나 했는지를 보는 것이 정말 기뻤습니다. 이런 순간들은 함께하는 경험이 학습에 대한 호기심과 열정을 키우는 데 얼마나 중요한지 다시 느끼게 해 줍니다.

This time our trip was to Beverley, a historic town in the north of England. The highlight of the visit was Beverley Minster, which is an absolutely stunning building with incredible history and architecture. Trips like these are always memorable. Where do you like to go on short trips?
